Eastern Avenue, August 24, Prayer

Eastern Avenue Church | Grand Rapids MI

Loving God, who does marvelous things.  We sing praises of a new song!

Earth and all stars, loud rushing planets, we sing to you, the Lord, a new song!
We begin this new season, and we lift our voices in prayer and praise.

We pray for our schools, our teachers, and all learners.

Classrooms and labs, Loud boiling test tubes
Athlete and band, Loud cheering people
We sing to the Lord a new song.

You do marvelous things

For teachers who shape minds and hearts, who labor with love and wisdom
May their classrooms be places of curiosity, courage, and grace.
Bless their preparation, their patience, and their passion.

For learners of all ages—students, mentors, administrators, and guides—
May we learn with humility, vision, and strength.
May we embrace the rhythm of learning, the gift of growth, and the hope of transformation.

We pray specifically for South Christian, Grand Rapids Christian, City High, East GR, Ottawa HS, and all of the elementary and middle schools of our youth.

We pray for our colleges, Calvin, Hope, GVSU, GRCC, Northern Michigan and Michigan Tech, Michigan State, (that other Michigan University in Ann Arbor), Xavier, Ball State, and all the Colleges and Universities serving our students and people.

We pray for our Eastern Avenue Church community, our Families, friends, colleagues, and neighbors

Harp, lute, and lyre! Loud humming cellow!
Daughter and son, Loud praying members

We sing to the Lord a new song.

You do marvelous things

For the sick and the hurting
Grant them healing in due time and patience for their bodies
For the grieving and the broken
Grant mercy and grace.

Make each of us friends to the hurting and grieving

when the world forgets their weeping.

We pray especially for: NAMES HERE [Omitted].

We pray for the world - workers, laborers, and leaders.

Engines and steel! Loud pounding hammer
Knowledge and truth, Loud sounding wisdom
Fields and Fruits! Loud sounding threshers

We sing to the Lord a new song.

You do marvelous things

For the world and workers and leaders beyond the walls of our worship—
Where knowledge meets need,

Where wisdom meets wonder—

Where hands co-create your marvelous deeds
May our work join you in the healing of the nations and the flourishing of all creation.

Unite us in love and make us generous in spirit. Heal our wounds

Earth and all stars, loud rushing planets

Let our lives be that song—full of praise and loud with peace.

You are doing marvelous things.

We sing to the Lord a new song!

In the Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen.
