The not so speedy Autobahn.

I know...the Autobahn. It is a quick ride, the world at one's fingertips. Speed. Tight turns. The open Road.

Not so, fantasizing friends. The Autobahn is but 494 or 94 at 5 pm. Too much traffic, too little space. The major difference is no road rage. People are kind enough to make space as long as the slow drivers stay out of the way. I did get my little car up to 185 km/hr. Because I refused to do the math, I have no idea how safe or unsafe that was - it simply felt good to think that I can say, "I got a car to 180."

Anyway, I drove from Bremen to Gottingen today stopping along the side of the road in a little town called Hemlisch - kind people, beautiful church, and cute wine shop. (I also enjoyed a pastry).

I am now in Gottingen with some friends from Luther who are studying German in Gottiingen, Mark and Linda Nygaard. They prepared dinner for me, went for a walk, and tomorrow they will join me in Halle. Looking forwar to the excursion, Enjoy the photos.
