meine Deutsche Klasse
Today is the second day of class here in Bremen. So far, so good. I feel like the grammar is coming more quickly than the vocabulary, which is good. Vocabulary will come with use (thank God for y $6.00 dictionary).
I have a phenomnenal teacher (Lehrerin); she is patient and kind. When she corrects my mistakes, I feel like she is praising me (not a bad feeling). There are 12 students in the class. Some are from South AMerica, others Latvia, Poland, France, and Turkey. It is a really great group of people, and we are learning well together.
ON another note, my host home is also wonderful. It is quite large, and when Lindsay comes, she will have a beautfiul place to sit in the mornings and afternoons. BArbara Athens, my host, is generous and kind, as well. SHe has students stay with her throughout the years, and she has been doing this for 10 years or so. She makes us breakfast when possible, and she even gave me a piece of pie (Wonderful!).
Next week Barbara leaves to see her daughter in Ireland. Before I knew about this, she asked me how the planeride from Amsterdam to Bremen was, and I told her in detail about the tiny plane (picture forthcoming), the noise, and the fear I had as the bus drove down the tarmac toward this decrepid fleugzeug (plane). I painted a bleak picture of the ride; as I completed my description, her faced changed, and she informed me that she is on the same type of plane next week - I felt terrible. Hopefully, she will not have anxiety!
Otherwise all is well. It is quiet for me, but maybe it is time to learn to enjoy it... Habe eine Gutes Tag, bitte.

Du, du liegst mir im Herzen,
ReplyDeleteDu, du liegst mir im Sinn,
Du, du machst mir viel Schmerzen,
Weißt nicht wie gut ich dir bin.
Ja, ja, ja, ja,
Weißt nicht wie gut ich dir bin.
Und, und wenn in der Ferne,
Mir, mir dein Bild erscheint,
Dann, dann wünscht ich so gerne,
Daß uns die Liebe vereint.
Ja, ja, ja, ja,
Daß uns die Liebe vereint.
Sorry but that is the only German I know. well.. that and "kann nicht verständ" which if our roles were reversed, I think I would be saying A LOT!
