The Elementary History of Burger Park

Grafin Emma was a (religious) woman who desired to help poor people in Bremen. When her husband died, he left her significant portions of money and property. One day on a horseback ride with her brother-in-law, she saw many poor people, and she wanted to help them. So she told the poor people that any land that one of them can cover for one hour, is a park for them to dwell in. Her brother-in-law, who was a bad guy, was disgusted by her decision, for he wanted the land for himself. So jokingly, he said, why only one hour; why not one whole day. As well, the brother offered to pick the person to walk. So she agreed, and told the people that they could walk for one whole day. Sure enough, he picked a man without legs. The other poor people were furious, and many went home instead of watching the spectacle.

When the woman told the man to begin, the onlookers could not believe their eyes – he walked with his hands. And though BurgerPark is bigger today than the land he covered, he covered significant space. Also, the space he covered is under the current Messa.

In addition, Burger Park was the original park of the people. Throughout the years and today, many wealthy people continue to buy land in order to donate to park and leisure space.

Today, Burger Park continues to be a park of the people. And once a year, the Park holds a party in order to maintain the Park – BurgerPark, Tumbula. The money raised is utilized for park upkeep.

In the Roland statue, there is a man at the bottom with hands and no legs; he is the man who joureneyed around and defined the original park – his name is Kruppel.

Today, Burger Park is a much larger and dynamic place.
