Micah took his first road trip, and though the first 45 minutes were brutal on the parents, Micah fell asleep in the car and we made it 250 miles in a mere 7 hours. The hospitable and gracious Bevis' invited us to take over their cabin for a few days in Ely, MN. It is a beautiful Swedish Stuga that breathes welcome and rest. During our time in Ely we spent the morings sleeping, going to the coffee shop and touring the town. In the afternoon, Lindsay was able to rest, and Kyle went for canoe and kayak rides. One afternoon, Char Robinette offered to come over and watch Micah so that we could go for a romantic canoe ride and swim together. Char and Bob are the nextdoor neighbors and our good friends who just moved to Ely (full-time) in August.
